Hi everyone. I’m baptized Catholic but honestly I’m starting from near zero. I can follow Mass and I pray occasionally, but I’ve never really read any Catholic books beyond a kids’ Bible when I was little.
I’m hoping to find ONE beginner-friendly Catholic book to start with—something not too academic, that explains what Catholics believe (and why), and helps me build a real prayer life. I get overwhelmed when I search online because there are so many lists.
If you had to pick just one “first book” for someone coming back (or starting fresh), what would it be? Bonus if it’s readable, not judgmental, and doesn’t assume I already know all the terminology.
