Hi everyone. I keep hearing that Divine Mercy Sunday has “special promises,” like total forgiveness or “a clean slate,” and I’m honestly confused about what’s official Church teaching vs. what comes from St. Faustina’s diary. I’m trying to plan well this year because I’ve had a heavy Lent and I really want to come back to confession.
What exactly are the promises of Divine Mercy Sunday? Do you need confession on that exact day, or just around it? Is it the same thing as a plenary indulgence, or something different? I’m also curious what the Church expects (prayers, attitude, trust, avoiding sin, etc.). Any clarity would really help me not treat it like a “magic day,” but still take it seriously.
