I’m a cradle Catholic but I’ll admit I’ve gotten a little “on autopilot” at Mass lately. I usually bring my kids, we’re rushing, and by the time we sit down I feel flustered and distracted. I’ve also noticed people doing different things (bowing vs genuflecting, not responding, going up for Communion without much reverence, leaving right after Communion, etc.).
I’m not trying to police anyone—more like I want to examine my own habits and teach my family well. What are common mistakes Catholics make at Mass (practically or spiritually)? And what are some simple ways to be more present and reverent without turning it into anxiety?
