Hi everyone. I’m a cradle Catholic who’s been trying to take my faith seriously again after a few years of just “showing up” sometimes. I’m not married, no kids, and I work a regular 9–5. I keep thinking that “serving God” must mean doing something big—like becoming a nun or working for the Church full time—but I don’t think I’m called to that (at least not right now).
I do go to Mass on Sundays, but I feel like the rest of my week is disconnected. I want to serve God as a layperson in a way that’s real and not just a checklist. I’m also not super outgoing, so the idea of leading a ministry scares me. What are some concrete ways a lay Catholic can serve God in everyday life, and how do I know I’m doing it with the right intention?
