I’ve been Catholic my whole life, and I *say* I want to be humble, but in real life I notice I’m always measuring myself against other people. At work I get defensive when corrected, in my parish group I secretly want recognition, and even in prayer I can turn it into “look how spiritual I’m being.”
I know humility isn’t self-hatred, and I’ve heard it’s basically living in the truth… but how do you actually grow in it as a Catholic? Are there specific prayers, saints, habits, or ways of receiving the sacraments that help? Also, what do you do when you fall into pride again and again without getting discouraged?
